Rishi officially started the 100th Scott Trial, joining riders and spectators in the Yorkshire Dales for the landmark motorcycle event.
The Richmond and Northallerton MP attended the famous competition, organised by Richmond Motor Club, to mark its 100th anniversary.
Mr Sunak welcomed competitors before starting the race, sending riders off to tackle one of the toughest challenges in motorcycle trials.
The Scott Trial combines speed and technical riding ability, with competitors racing across challenging moorland terrain, negotiating steep hills, rocky streams and other obstacles.
Unlike conventional motorcycle trials, riders are assessed on both the time they take to complete the course and the penalties they collect at observed sections.
The event attracts some of the country's leading trials riders alongside amateur competitors, with spectators travelling to the Yorkshire Dales to watch the action.
This year's competition was ultimately won by George Hemmingway, who claimed victory in the 100th running of the event.
Alongside the sporting competition, the Scott Trial raises funds for local charities and community organisations, with Richmond Motor Club raising more than £233,000 for charitable causes over the past 15 years.
This year's beneficiaries include Swaledale Mountain Rescue, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Great North Air Ambulance, local schools, youth organisations and other community groups.
Mr Sunak praised Richmond Motor Club and the volunteers whose hard work makes the event possible, recognising the contribution the annual competition makes to communities across the Yorkshire Dales.
Rishi said:
"It was a real privilege to officially start the 100th Scott Trial and be part of such a special occasion in the Yorkshire Dales.
"The skill, determination and endurance needed to take on this event are remarkable, and it was fantastic to see so many riders and spectators coming together for such a historic competition.
"What makes the Scott Trial particularly special is the enormous amount of work that goes into organising it and the difference it makes to local communities".
"I want to thank Richmond Motor Club, the volunteers and everyone who supports this fantastic event. Congratulations to George Hemmingway on his victory and to all the riders who took part."
Ken Wallis, Secretary of Richmond Motor Club said:
"We were very pleased that Rishi managed to find time in his busy schedule to come to the Scott Trial and set off the riders for the 2026 event.
"This year marked the 100th running of this iconic time and observation event, and all support in helping to ensure the Scott Trial continues is very welcome."
