Rishi Sunak took questions from pupils at Kirkby Fleetham Church of England Primary School.

The children gathered round the Richmond MP to ask him about his life as their MP.

Questions ranged from why he became an MP to why is Brexit important?

Mr Sunak said: "I was very impressed with the quality and range of the questions which covered a huge range of subjects."

He was also asked for his favourite word to add to the school's golden thread of language which is displayed in one of the classrooms. He chose 'inspire'.

Mr Sunak also toured the school with headteacher Helen Dudman and members of the school council, meeting other members of staff including school cook Sara Wilson.
