A quick tour around Richmond School this morning. The school has very good facilities, having been the beneficiary of a £32m investment from the Department of Education a few years ago.

I enjoyed learning about the school’s notable alumni which include Charles Grey (who gave his name to the tea Earl Grey as well being a notable politician involved in the 1832 Reform Act which broadened the right to vote) and Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland.

I also heard about the strong sports teams, especially in cricket which is a passion of mine. I am looking forward to coming to watch some matches at the ground next year!

Across the constituency we do a little better than the national average when it comes to GCSE results, with 64% of pupils achieving 5 GCSEs A-C versus 59% nationally.
