Thriving Construction Business In Colburn

Colburn Business Park is home to some great small businesses, and I visited Inbuild to learn more about this great design and construction firm.

Inbuild employs nearly 20 people and was set up in 1988. In that time its turnover has increased 10 times and it has doubled its headcount. Inbuild uses leading computer software to design technical and complex parts of buildings. It works across the UK for large and well known companies. It also is a keen supporter of the community, including being a sponsor for a local cycling team!

One issue we discussed at length is the treatment of smaller, sub-contracting firms like Inbuild by large general contractors. Small businesses are the lifeblood of the economy in this area, and it is important they are not put under pressure by larger companies who can use their market sizer and power to exploit small businesses.
