Rishi Sunak at Victoria Prints

Rishi has visited a family business providing a specialist service for the military community in Catterick Garrison

He was welcomed to Victoria Prints to meet the family behind the long-established business and hear about their plans for the future.

Established in 2005 from the family kitchen table, the business has grown steadily over two decades, first moving to a market stall in Catterick before expanding into its current premises, where it now provides bespoke framing, military presentation pieces and medal mounting for both military and civilian customers.

He met founder Ian Sixsmith and family members including Graham Prince MBE and Sandra Prince.

Victoria Prints has built a strong reputation for its specialist work preserving treasured memories, from military medals and regimental cap badges to sporting memorabilia, academic achievements and family photographs.

During the visit, Rishi was shown around the workshop, met staff, including veterans now working at the company, and took part in framing a piece himself, gaining first-hand insight into the craftsmanship behind the business.

The visit also highlighted the firm’s ambitions for the future. Victoria Prints is currently planning a move to larger premises to support its continued growth.

Alongside Victoria Prints, the family has recently launched a new business, Shutter Bloom, offering photography and printing services. The new venture reflects the company’s commitment to diversifying and building on its expertise, while opening up new opportunities to capture and present important moments and milestones.

Rishi said:

“It was a real pleasure to visit Victoria Prints and see first-hand the remarkable journey this family business has been on. Meeting the team and seeing their craftsmanship up close was inspiring, and it’s clear how much pride they all take in their work”.

“Their success, and their exciting plans to expand and launch new ventures like Shutter Bloom, are a fantastic example of the entrepreneurial spirit we are fortunate to have here in Catterick Garrison. I wish them every continued success for the future.”

Ian Sixsmith, founder of Victoria Prints, said:

“It was an honour to welcome Rishi to Victoria Prints and to share the story of how our family business has grown over the past twenty years. What started as a small idea at the kitchen table has become something we are incredibly proud of, supporting both military and civilian customers and employing a fantastic team, including veterans”.

“We were pleased to show him our workshop, talk about our plans to move to larger premises, and introduce our new photography business, Shutter Bloom. It was a special moment for our family and our staff, and we are grateful for his support.”
