Rishi Sunak takes part in Leyburn Act of Remembrance

Rishi Sunak at Leyburn Remembrance Sunday

Rishi Sunak MP took part in the Remembrance Sunday ceremony and service at Leyburn.

He joined the Mayor of Leyburn, Cllr Trixie Walker, and the Queen's representative Tom Ramsden DL in laying wreaths at the town's Market Place war memorial.

Wreaths were also laid by many organisations in the town including the Leyburn branch of Royal British Legion, the police, fire service and scouts, brownies, cubs and beavers from Leyburn and Wensleydale.

The Last Post and Reveille was sounded by Jules Higham of Leyburn Band.

A crowd of more than 200 townsfolk respecfully watched the ceremony before the Royal British Legion led the parade down the Market Place for a service led by the Rev Michael Hepper.
