Rishi Sunak MP has met Stokesley residents who fear the impact of a new housing development adjacent to their homes.
Mr Sunak, the MP for Richmond, listened to residents' concerns about the 220-home Kier Living development under construction off Tanton Road.
At a meeting in Stokesley Town Hall attended by about 40 householders from Woodlands Walk and Peacock's Close, the residents said:

They feared a greater flood risk from the new homes;

A drainage ditch between their homes and the new development had not been cleared;

Pile driving on the development may damage their homes;

They suspect the development may not be built in accordance with the original plans;

They are experiencing noise and local roads leading to the development are being damaged.
Mr Sunak, who also visited one of the homes affected in Woodlands Walk prior to the meeting, said he understood the residents' fears.
He undertook to contact Kier and Hambleton District Council, the local authority responsible for monitoring the development's progress.
He said: "I want to make sure Kier keep their promises as a responsible developer, keep residents informed and do what they say they going to do, particularly in relation to the flood prevention and drainage issues."
He said he has arranged to meet representatives of Kier later this month to discuss the residents' concerns.
Kier have previously said they are building in accordance with the planning permission and making every effort to keep nearby residents informed about progress.
