Rishi met Stokesley School Sixth Form students whose community project is supporting local families this Christmas.

The students, who gathered donations from their fellow students, have packed bags filled with various gifts for local families in need.

The MP praised the students for their hard work: “This effort will make a real difference to families in our community,” he said.

“The generosity shown by these students is a perfect example of how young people can come together to support others in need. Every single student involved should be immensely proud of their contribution to making Christmas brighter for these families.”

Rishi also met the sixth form politics class where students engaged him in a thought-provoking Q&A session. The students focused their questions on his time as Prime Minister, asking about his experiences, challenges, and leadership decisions.

Rishi encouraged the students to maintain their interest in current affairs beyond their studies and consider how they can contribute to shaping their futures.

“I was impressed by the insightful questions and the level of interest in politics from Stokesley’s students,” said Sunak. “It’s clear that the next generation is ready to make a real impact on the future of our country, and I’m proud to see such engaged young minds eager to learn and lead.”

Headteacher Mick Fenwick said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Sunak to school and our student leaders in particular were delighted to receive recognition from their local MP on their recent achievements for several good causes.

“Our sixth form politics students were enthused at the opportunity to ask some important questions of Rishi on some key topics and it was a fabulous opportunity for our young.  We are grateful that Rishi took the time to visit our school and to engage with our young people."

Politics teacher Chris Jones said: “It was great to see Rishi at the school again and especially following our visit to Number 10 to see him back in 2023.

Head Girl Rowan Airey said: "It was an amazing experience to meet Rishi. We are grateful that he came to see our work with the local community and recognised our efforts.
