Rishi Sunak opens Nourished Richmond

Rishi has opened new premises for an expanding family business in Richmond.

The Health Food Shop has moved into a bigger shop unit in the town’s Finkle Street and rebranded as Nourished.

Rishi cut a ribbon to declare the new shop open and was then shown round by owners Dominic and Tania Fava.

The business was established as The Health Food Shop over 40 years ago by Dominic’s parents Pat and Tony Fava and was in much smaller premises off Finkle Street.

Mr Fava said: “It was great to have Rishi come to our new shop. We have made a big investment and are hopeful that having a bigger and more visible presence in the town centre will help us to build our customer base.

“We are lucky to have a very loyal local following who have always known where to find us but we want to find new customers who perhaps were not aware of where we were. The early signs are good with lots of new faces coming through the door.”

Mr Fava added that since he and his wife had taken on the business in 2019 they had developed the product range and focused on sustainability. This included helping the Richmond community to reduce waste, selling products in refillable containers, and dried goods mostly in plastic-free packaging.

Rishi said: “It is hugely encouraging to see a family business taken on by a new generation and having the confidence to invest.

“Nourished is so much more than a health food shop with a wide range of foods sold in sustainable packaging or loose using customers’ refillable containers.

“I wish them the very best with the business in 2023.”
