World Cup football fans watching the Lionesses’ big game in their local pub were joined by their MP Rishi Sunak.

Rishi dropped into the Fleece Inn on Northallerton’s High Street to watch the Women’s World Cup final with fellow England fans.

He said: “Sadly, we didn’t get the result we all wanted but there was a great atmosphere in the Fleece among the supporters.”

Fleece landlord Adrian Orford said: “It was a memorable day for the Fleece, for our customers and our staff. Having Rishi here in our pub made it really special. It was just a shame we couldn’t all celebrate a win at the end.”
