Rishi congratulated the Billau family on 25 years at the helm of a North Yorkshire pub.
He met Pauline Billau, her son Adrian and his wife Helen to celebrate the milestone anniversary of the family-run establishment.
Rishi enjoyed lunch at The Heifer and praised the team for their quarter-century contribution to North Yorkshire’s hospitality sector.
The Heifer occupies a prime position overlooking Scorton’s raised village green.
Over the past 25 years, it has developed a loyal following made up of local residents and visitors from further afield.
Rishi said: "It was a pleasure to join the Billau family to help them celebrate 25 years of dedication and excellence at The Heifer”
“Family-run businesses like this are the backbone of our rural communities, providing fantastic service, creating local jobs and bringing people together. Pauline, Adrian and Helen have shown true commitment to both their business and the village of Scorton, and I wish them every success for the years ahead.”
Adrian said: "Reaching 25 years at The Heifer means the world to us. This pub has been at the heart of our lives for a quarter of a century, and we’ve shared so many memories with our amazing customers, staff, and friends along the way. It was incredibly special to have Rishi Sunak and colleagues visit and recognise what this place means, not just to us, but the whole community.”
