Wensleydale Rugby Union Football Club is a thriving local sports club and getting ready for an exciting expansion of its facilities.
The Club currently has multiple high achieveing youth teams, senior teams and a thriving community program with local schools. Its volunteer base is over 100 people and the spirit of camraderie in the club is fantastic. The commitment of the leadership to the club and its place in the community is admirable, especially their focus on the youth program and quality of coaching.
We had a drink in the club bar and talked about the plan to expand and modernise part of the off-pitch facilities. Whilst the pitches are in good condition (including having great flood lighting) the club is looking to do more with its club house. Once the expansion is complete, not only will the teams benefit from enhanced facilities, but the club will also be of greater use to the wider community.
After our chat and drink, we headed out to the pitch to join the practice session!
